Barley Formula

Directions:
This is the original Barley Formula as developed by L. Ron Hubbard.
Put about half a cup of whole barley in a piece of muslin tie it loosely to
allow for expansion place it in a pot containing 4 pints of water boil slowly
for 6 1/2 hours with pot slightly vented so that steam can escape mix the
formula using a ratio of: 15 oz barley water; 10 oz homogenised milk; 3 oz of
corn syrup.
Notes: never use an Aluminum cooking pot – stainless steel is best. Do not use
this pot for anything else anymore – only for this barley. The amount of syrup
can be varied according to taste. Barley water should turn very very pink and
this will tell you it is the right consistency. You only use the barley water,
not the barley itself.
I found that the boiling has to be done VERY slowly or you won’t have much
water left – it took me a few times trying to get the hang of it on my stove :-)
My son grew up on this formula. He’s as strong as an ox, and extremely healthy!
BTW, as you can see, it doesn’t say “pasteurized” milk, only “homogenized”.
Anyhow, have fun with this formula. Lots of kids have had it, and I’ve only heard good reports from it.
